And the final post from Hitchcock’s Topaz - a darkroom hidden behind the pantry shelves. I wish I had one of these.
How to hide a camera.
In Topaz cameras are often shown being concealed. The Nikon F arrives in Cuba hidden in a package which is said to contain “nylons”. The Pen F is taken on assignment in a bread-roll. Afterwards it is hidden in a hollow bridge railing for later pick-up. It eventually finds its way back to base inside a turkey.

This movie is full of cameras. It is a spy movie where the main weapons are cameras. Here on the breakfast table we see a Nikon F with motor drive and remote control. They have just been removed from a package that was said to contain “nylons”.

In Hitchcock’s 1969 spy flick, Topaz, an agent shoots with a small camera then passes it to a fellow agent while being pursued. I have no idea what this little camera is, but there are a lot of Swiss spy cameras which look rather like this one.

When the Russian defector and his family arrive at the safe house outside Washington they are quickly led in to a make-shift studio for their portraits.
There are so many interesting cameras in this movie that I will spread them over a few posts. More later…
